I have no faith in a minority government lead by Albanese. According to the commentary I have read, he still holds a grudge against the Greens due to the failure of Rudd government's carbon pollution reduction scheme. Also, he seems to have his nose out of joint over the Greens ‘grandstanding’ over several ALP policy initiatives this term.

I have no faith in a minority government lead by Chalmers either. He doesn't have the grudges that Albanese has, to be fair, but he really doesn't seem to be that bright either, or up to the challenges facing us in the next few years.

Here's the "messaging" that he's gone with to start the year. Lots of pseudo-macroeconomic indicators, and the odd line such as "Top 3 budget in the G20".

But of course, nothing about the largest fall in disposable incomes across the OECD over the past two years, naturally, which most people folk sense even if most wouldn't have the numbers to support that.

I have to ask myself - does Chalmers and his team put out stuff like that and truly expect to win over undecided voters?

Chalmers would not scare the Labor rusted ons. In fact, he would be a skerrick less insipid than Albanese.

Yeah who in Labor could manage a minority government? Shorten may have done but he is pulling the pin. Plibersek? naaah! Burke? naaah! Jason Clare? maybe.

Yes, and his messaging appears to be entirely for rusted ons - especially the ones who get in arguments over politics with their families, and want a quick meme to share to "win" the argument.

That's the problem. For non rusted ons, it's got no appeal. Those are the people you want to win over.

He'd be a step up, I think. He has a bit more energy than Albanese, not that that would be hard. But he's still just another neolib mouthpiece. His toying with getting into crypto just seems insane.

Yes, what on earth is the crypto thing about?

Watching who creates the shadows rather than the shadows themselves is the theme for 2025. And standing up to the shadow makers and their shadow puppets. Thanks, Tim. Your article gives me heart and hope. Weirdly given how serious it is.

Once again Thank you for stating what should be the obvious when we are confronted with huge shifts in world power and control .I was sent a Tik Tok video this am which causes alarm that we have missed the underlying feature that Russia over twenty years has planned and implemented a gradual takeover of western psyche.Americans now have had their confidence in themselves eroded to such a level that they are now reduced to the situation of distrust of everyone and therefore belief in unlikely stories about moon landing ..Hitler….Democrats creating climate changes !

Australia is not immune to this system of eroding our confidence and this next election may well illustrate the amount of influence that Russia can exert on a weary public .My other question is also what benefits China can gain from quietly watching and continuing to churn out electric cars and knock out competition in Europe especially ?

Another aspect is a dumbing down of the public by cost of proper food /nutrition being too much and junk food the alternative for those who need fillers even though lack of nutrition ensures a constant need for sugar as an addiction What do trillionaires eat these days might be worth pursuit and did Hitler eat a proper diet while encouraging his underlings to consume heavier meals which bogged down their capacity to think more carefully 🥴
