Why subscribe?

Your subscription supports my writing and allows me to commission paid work from other writers. Australia’s media is amongst the most concentrated in the world and it is essential that as many of us as possible step up and allow other voices to be heard in important debates and discussions. By subscribing, you are helping maintain a healthy alternative media sphere so that our public discussion is not dominated by the voices of the powerful. A subscription also lets you join the conversations on each post and to access all articles and interviews.

Paid versus free

Having a paid option is about keeping the work here viable and available. Most articles are freely available, but that is only possible with a certain level of paid support. Honestly, it sucks asking people to pay, but if you can afford it, and if you get some value from what is written here, a paid sub makes a huge difference to me and to the writers I commission to write here.
